The CAGED System

The CAGED system is one way of quickly turning open string major chord shapes into any other major chords, by simply learning the position of their Root / Key note on the neck of the guitar.
The CAGED system is so called as it refers to the major chords
C A G E D in the open position.
The Diagrams below show the open string chord shapes.
The Root / Key notes are shown as a red square.
